Monthly Desktop Wallpaper

I stumbled across on article from Smashing Magazine, a news site for the latest in design and web development trends based in the UK, discussing desktop wallpaper:
Desktop wallpapers can serve as an excellent source of inspiration. However, if you use some specific wallpaper for a long period of time, it becomes harder to draw inspiration out of it. That’s why we’ve decided to supply you with smashing wallpapers over the next 12 months.
This article appeared back in April. Every month since, they have been releasing a selection of desktop wallpapers that display the calendar for that particular month. I have been changing my desktop wallpaper every month to one of these. (Most of them have the option to include the calendar or not, which might make them useful over a longer period of time.) My favorite is still the one I used back in April, which I have shown in a large size below along with smaller thumbnails of those I have used for each of the other months (including what I plan to use for November).
I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would like to think it has served in some way as a source of creative inspiration. I do hope they continue to do this past next April; I have been looking forward each month to the new selection.
